my take ON IT
“…I never forgot the initial joy, the the thrill of that moment of inception, of meaning. Even if it only meant something to myself, and even if it ultimately was deemed rubbish. There was a purity in the art of creation…”
- Bruce Dickinson: What Does This Button Do?, 2017
As far back as I can recall, I have been in the process of creating - either drawing, painting, tinkering, whatever. For many years, I have had many opportunities on the professional front to dabble in creative processes - whether as a digital production hound, a graphic designer on corporate documents, or just pulling together proper banding to output various deliverables in the digital realm. I have done just about anything related to the typical use of all creative software types to make a deadline for a client.
I would describe my creative process for these works as the incorporation of design as art - a method of combining traditional art-making techniques with a flow that leads to a final digital presentation. I like to think of my approach as a melding of the thought process and traditional training of the artist, with the technical craft of the visual designer.
All along, one thing has remained constant. I LOVE to create stuff - doodles, drawings, paint on paper, manipulation of photographs, this site you're looking over, elements mashed together, et cetera. It's a simple passion. This selection of work represents part of that journey - an intersection on all the various roads - and the journey continues onward. If you like my work, many thanks!
